Johnnie Walker has marked this year’s World Whisky Day with the release of a special Michael Jackson tribute mixtape curated by celebrated Ugandan DJ, DJ Kasbaby.
Dubbed the Walkers Mixtape, the 21-track compilation pays homage to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, through a carefully selected blend of some of his most iconic songs.
The mixtape combines classics, fan favourites and deep cuts, taking listeners through hits such as Human Nature, Heal the World, Smooth Criminal, Bad, Billie Jean, Thriller, Black or White and Beat It.
Other tracks featured include The Girl Is Mine featuring Paul McCartney, Give In to Me, Will You Be There, They Don't Care About Us, Man in the Mirror, Remember the Time, Dangerous, Dirty Diana and Earth Song.
According to DJ Kasbaby, the project was inspired by the timeless appeal of both Michael Jackson’s music and the Johnnie Walker brand.
“I wanted to create something timeless for World Whisky Day, and producing my very first Walkers Mixtape felt like the perfect way to do it. Michael Jackson’s music transcends generations, cultures, and eras just like great whisky brings people together. This mix is about celebration, nostalgia, energy, and great vibes. I hope everyone enjoys this experience as much as I enjoyed creating it,” he said.
Christine Kyokunda said the mixtape reflects the spirit of World Whisky Day celebrations.
