Police have today conducted searches at the homes of three former Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) officials, including former Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka, former Deputy Executive Director Eng. David Luyimbazi, and former Director of Public Health Dr. Daniel Okello.

Kisaka, who was transported from Kira Police Station, where she had spent a night in a police drone van under heavy escort, was taken to her home as part of the search. It remains unclear what specific evidence the police are seeking.

The search has been extended to the residences of Eng. Luyimbazi and Dr. Okello, both of whom, along with Kisaka, were arrested after appearing at the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) in response to summonses over the Kiteezi landfill tragedy.

This tragedy, which claimed the lives of 30 people, has prompted a wave of investigations. President Museveni dismissed the trio in September following an Inspector General of Government (IGG) report that linked their mismanagement of the Kiteezi landfill to the fatal incident.

The president has since demanded that those responsible for the loss of lives be held accountable.

As the investigation deepens, the Nile post will bring you  further details about the police's actions and findings as awaited.
