Kapelebyong man burns own mother, sibling

Aman identified as William Otukoi has allegedly killed his mother and her youngest child before setting their house on fire.
The incident occurred yesterday in Aditetau village, Amaseniko parish, Kapelebyong sub-county Kapelebyong district
The deceased has been identified as Grace Asele, a widow from Aditetau.
According to reports, she was attacked and hacked by her son, Otukoi, before he set the house ablaze and fled the scene.
But East Kyoga Region Police have uncovered details of a brutal murder in Aditetau village, Amaseniko parish.
Police say the victims, a mother and her young daughter, were found dead in what is suspected to be an arson attack.
The tragic event unfolded on the afternoon of August 6 at about 2pm. The deceased have been identified as 47-year-old Grace Asele and her 7-year-old daughter Juliet Adeke.
According to ASP Edison Obukulem, the acting East Kyoga Region Police spokesperson, the case was brought to the attention of the Kapelebyong Central Police Station by Mr Charles Aporu, chairman of Aditetau village.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the heinous act was allegedly perpetrated by Asele's biological son, Otukoi, who is now in police custody.
Witnesses reported that after having lunch prepared by his mother, Otukoi locked both his mother and sister inside their grass-thatched hut before setting it ablaze.
The police have recorded several witness statements as part of the investigations.
Meanwhile, the charred remains of the victims have been transported to Amuria General Hospital for post-mortem.
Authorities have urged the public to stay vigilant and come forward with any information that might aid in the investigation.
The community remains in shock as they grapple with the aftermath of this tragic event, seeking answers and justice for the victims.
