Uganda to Mark National Physical Activity Day

The government of Uganda will mark the national physical activity day to be held on Sunday, July 8,2018 at the Kololo ceremonial grounds under the theme: "My Health is My Responsibility."

While addressing the press conference at the Uganda Media Centre, the government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo announced that the day is aimed at strengthening efforts in the prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases, to take timely action on promotion of physical activity and to encourage the public to adopt physical activity as a routine.

Opondo said that most times people only go for health check ups after falling ill. The National Physical Activity Day will sensitize the population about what can be done before that .The day also aims at teaching adoption of doing daily physical activities.
