The other challenge remains transport. Vehicles are known to overload passengers and goods and this could many at the risk of contracting Ebola.

Mugisa Solomon the Rwenzori West Community Liaisons Officer tasked transport operators to move with sanitisers in the vehicles. The sanitisers, he said, should be sprayed on the hands of passengers before they board the vehicles.

At Fort Portal referral hospital, health workers were seen moving up and down training health personnel and other stakeholders on how to handle Ebola patients.

Dr. Kaliisa Kyebambe, the senior medical officer and Ebola focal person at the hospital said medical workers had undergone some drills.

The Ebola treatment unit at Fort Portal referral hospital has the capacity of six beds for cases from Kabarole , Kamwenge, Kyenjojo ,Bunyangabu and Ntoroko districts which is a challenge in case of overwhelming numbers from different districts.
