The Deputy Inspector General of Government, Anne Twinomugisha, has urged the management of Kawolo Hospital to boost staffing levels and increase bed capacity to improve service delivery and patient care.

Twinomugisha made the remarks during an impromptu spot check of the hospital, where she observed that while the facility was generally clean, there were areas requiring improvement to meet patient needs.

“We need to see improved staffing levels and increased bed capacity to better serve patients,” Twinomugisha said, emphasising the need for enhanced service delivery in public health facilities.

She also stressed the importance of medical workers consistently wearing uniforms while on duty, noting that proper identification helps build trust and accountability in healthcare settings.

The visit was part of ongoing efforts by the Inspectorate of Government to address complaints of poor service delivery at public health facilities.

Twinomugisha was accompanied by Buikwe District officials and staff from the Inspectorate of Government.

Last week, she conducted a similar inspection at Kojja Health Centre IV, where absenteeism among staff was identified as a major challenge affecting service delivery.

“We shall follow up to address these challenges and ensure normal service delivery is restored,” Twinomugisha assured patients during the visit.
