The Rotaract Club of Kigo 7 Lakes Golf marked a significant milestone on Tuesday with an official visit from District Rotaract Representative (DRR) Aleber Kanyonza, in an evening filled with inspiration, recognition, and renewed commitment to service.
Hosted at Fairway Hotel, the visit underscored the club’s rapid growth and growing influence, despite being less than a year old. The occasion attracted members, guests, and leaders from the Rotary and Rotaract fraternity, showcasing the club’s dedication to fellowship and impact-driven initiatives.
The day began with a closed board meeting chaired by Club President Louis Shamim, where Club Secretary Nankunda Bronia presented the club’s quarterly status report. DRR Kanyonza praised the club’s strong foundation and encouraged leaders to align their strategic goals with their current membership strength. “Your achievements in such a short time are commendable. Continue to grow with intention and remain focused on delivering sustainable service,” she advised.
The evening transitioned into a vibrant fellowship session, where the club inducted four new members, signalling continued growth and engagement. DRR Kanyonza highlighted the club’s strength in keeping members involved through innovative activities and commended the visibility and professionalism of their social media presence. “You’ve shown that a young club can still lead by example—your energy, creativity, and outreach are truly inspiring,” she said.
In a show of alignment with Rotary International’s broader goals, the club pledged a USD 500 donation to The Rotary Foundation (TRF), reinforcing its commitment to sustainable impact and district initiatives.
The event was further elevated by the presence of Rtn Kintu Richard, Youth Service Director from the club’s mother club, Rotary Club of Kigo 7 Lakes Golf, who offered mentorship and encouragement to the young Rotaractors.
Speaking after the event, the club’s leadership reaffirmed their dedication to Rotary values while nurturing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and fun. “We are committed to serving humanity in ways that are both impactful and enjoyable. Our goal is to build a strong legacy of service while fostering true fellowship,” said President Shamim. As the Rotaract Club of Kigo 7 Lakes Golf continues to expand its footprint, this visit by DRR Kanyonza serves as a testament to the club’s promising future and its place within the vibrant Rotary family.
