His signature blend of lifestyle vlogs, drifting stunts, and quirky skits has captivated audiences far and wide, with one theme always present: a deep love for Uganda.
Muzungu Boda’s journey to Uganda began with a dream in his sleep. In it, his cousin, who had lived in Uganda for ten years, beckoned him to visit the Pearl of Africa.
In May of the previous year, he decided to make that dream a reality, a decision he describes as one of the best in his life.
Despite a knee injury from his home country, which initially gave him a fear of boda bodas, the adventurer in him took over a few months of staying in Uganda.
In December 2023, he borrowed a friend's boda boda to ride around town. That day, a young lady mistook him for a boda boda rider and requested a ride. Muzungu Boda filmed the encounter with her permission, and the video went viral.
This spontaneous moment not only introduced him to Ugandans as "Muzungu Boda" (a white boda boda rider) but also sparked widespread curiosity, with some speculating he was an undercover agent or part of a special forces unit.
Muzungu Boda, however, dismisses these claims, saying he is simply someone who loves Uganda, its people, and its culture.
Following the overwhelming response to his first viral video, Muzungu Boda adopted the name across his social media platforms.
Today, he’s a content creator, videographer, and writer who showcases everything from drifting stunts to boda boda rides, all while promoting Ugandan culture in a patriotic and humorous way.
What stands out about Muzungu Boda’s content is its authenticity. He admits that 99% of his videos are unscripted, capturing the rawness of everyday Ugandan life.
From the very first video to the latest, all his content is shot using only his phone. He edits the videos himself, a process that takes up most of his time, with help from his best friend- Chaka, a Tanzanian artist, and also uniform skater one of Ugandans craziest roller skaters.
He is also helped by his cousin, whom he calls ‘Koach.’ He is also his manager and best friend. He also does this vloging most of the his official time.
Muzungu Boda speaks highly of Uganda’s energy, calling it "intoxicating and ADDICTIVE."
He says he wants to live in Uganda forever and continue promoting the country to the world. His goal is to inspire others to have fun, help their communities develop, and love Uganda even more.
His connection with Uganda also extends to football.
Randomly, while riding his boda boda around his neighbourhood, he was once approached by children asking him to buy them football. This interaction soon grew into something bigger, and Muzungu Boda ended up founding a football club for local children.
He provides footballs, jerseys, coaches, watermelon, food and even school fees for many of the children, financing the project from his own earnings and donations from friends. He further invites anyone to join the training sessions so that they can experience the vibe.
Through this club, Muzungu Boda aims to offer these children a chance to excel, not only in football but in life. He envisions a future where they can participate in national and international leagues while pursuing their education and careers.
His vlogs are often filmed in environments he interacts with daily, whether it's riding bodas through the bustling streets of Kampala or playing football with local kids; one of the hallmarks that have kept it authentic and relatable.
He emphasises that Ugandans return love tenfold when they feel appreciated, a sentiment that has played a significant role in his continued success.
Muzungu Boda’s content has not only captured hearts but also changed habits. One fan commented that he had sold his DSTV subscription just to focus on watching Muzungu Boda’s videos.
His relatable style, centered on the everyday life of Ugandans, continues to inspire creativity and discovery among his audience.
Looking ahead, Muzungu Boda aspires to explore more collaborations with brands that align with his values. He’s also keen on improving his Luganda and working on projects with Ugandans to create transformative experiences.
His long-term vision includes creating Ugandan films and expanding his charity work, though he prefers not to broadcast these efforts publicly to avoid misconceptions.
In the near future, fans can look forward to his upcoming book, set to launch soon, as well as continued creativity on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where he consistently uploads the content.
Muzungu Boda comes from a diverse background, with a mother from Bosnia and a father from New Zealand.
Growing up in the aftermath of the Bosnian war, he developed his humorous side as a way of keeping his family entertained during tough times. Today, that sense of fun and adventure fuels his content.
He receives guidance from his cousin-manager Koach and is careful about whose advice he takes, acknowledging that some people may have ulterior motives.
One of his dreams is to ride Uganda's President, Yoweri Museveni on his boda boda, and seek mentorship from him.
Whether drifting cars, riding boda bodas, or promoting his football club, Muzungu Boda is passionate about one thing: inspiring fun, creativity, and love for Uganda.
