Kampala dwellers especially business people have asked organisers of the annual Anti-Corruption Walk to shift next year's event to Sundays to avoid jeopardizing business in the central business district.
The anti-Corruption Walk which was graced by President Museveni early on Wednesday caused traffic and human jam along Kampala Roads forcing masses to walk long distances to their respective work places.
As early as 7.15 am, Kira Road that connects Ntinda to Bukoto and Kamwokya was impassable due to heavy traffic.
Alongside the immobile cars, revellers trekked to town after ditching public transport.
Odongo Victor, a third year student at Makerere University said he nearly missed his examination which was set to start at 8.00 am.
Odongo just like other people affected by the traffic jam said anti-corruption walk is a mere passage of time but it will have no impact on the rotten corruption state in Uganda.
“Corruption has already reached the bone marrow, so a mere walking will not have any impact,” Odongo added.
Yusuf Lule Road was closed,limiting access to the FairWay Hotel Junction.
Ambulances ferrying patients to Mulago Hospital were seen driving over lane barriers to save lives of the inhabitants.
