Un Cool MC, Don Julio Turn Up Silo 15’s Second Anniversary Celebrations

Wednesday night on Bandali Rise felt like a movie. There was a rain scare, summer dresses, big spenders, free cocktails, and one man unapologetically uncool, South Africa’s Un Cool MC.

The evening started in style. A violinist played Mexican tunes, and ceramic handleless cups replaced glassware for Don Julio cocktails. Silo 15 management clearly wanted guests to stay until sunrise.

Silo 15 turned two, though it already feels like a long-standing part of the city. Conversations, shared memories, and wild nights filled the venue. Some memories were printed and displayed along the walkway, doubling as the red carpet.

Performances from Maurice Kirya and Elijah Kitaka reminded everyone that Silo 15 had celebrated its two years without leaving any crumbs.

The red carpet brought out Uganda’s socialites and party enthusiasts. Every step offered a photo or video opportunity to capture the energy of the occasion.

Don Julio, as the world’s luxury tequila brand, delivered a premium experience, combining high-quality tequila with exceptional service. Guests enjoyed DJ sets from Spinny and Friends and Girls in the City. A central cocktail bar, accompanied by a violinist and DJ, added to the luxury setup.

Mixologist Ivan Kanyesigye gave a masterclass on making unique Margaritas. He explained, “With Blanco, you can never go wrong. It will have you taste the tequila and other ingredients simultaneously, helping you savour your drink.”

Dramatic bottle service stood out, carried out with lights and pomp to the Dorime sound signaling a 1942 bottle purchase.

Judie Nandekya, Senior Brand Manager, Tequila and Rum East Africa at UBL, praised the partnership, saying, “The Don Julio and Silo 15 partnership is a match made in heaven. We are happy to have walked this journey with Silo as a valued partner. Two years in business is a milestone worth celebrating. Ours is a partnership that has given our consumers an opportunity to experience well curated premium lifestyle occasions. Congratulations to Silo 15 for reaching this milestone.”

The music was high-energy, relatable, and in sync with the crowd. Afro-electronic, Afro House, and Dancehall were curated by DJs Kamali, Etania Life of the Party, City Girl, Mato, and Don Julio brand ambassador DJ Dash, supported by MCs Pest and Josh.

Silo 15 Manager Brenda Kassi said, “I am happy that we’ve made two years of outstanding service to fun loving Ugandans. I am thankful to our partners, they made this journey both easy and more entertaining, for us, and our customers. I wish to thank Don Julio, in a special way, for walking this journey with us right from day one. We are really grateful to have a partner who has innovated with us to curate experiences such as the Daycation brunch, anniversary celebrations, among many others. We promise our clients even a more exciting third year of business.”

The night’s headliner, South Africa’s Un Cool MC, turned Silo 15 into Joburg for a moment. Revelers chanted ‘piano…piano,’ showing off Kwaito moves, while others captured the night on their phones.

The celebrations proved that every milestone is worth marking with Don Julio. Premium tequila and unforgettable occasions are a perfect combination.
