Creata Connect convened podcasters, creatives and policymakers at the Next Conference Centre to reflect on sustainable podcasting, collaboration and responsible storytelling, reinforcing the importance of community and structured growth within Uganda’s expanding creative industry.

Creata Connect on Africa Podcast Day brought together podcasters, creatives, and industry leaders at the Next Conference Centre for a conversation rooted in learning, access, and community.

Hosted under Next Creata, the event reaffirmed its commitment to creating space for young creatives to network, grow, and feel heard.

The session opened with Alan Kasujja, a veteran broadcaster, former BBC Africa Daily host, and newly appointed Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre. He spoke on starting a podcast with intention, introducing the idea that context plus content creates connection.

He challenged creators to understand their metrics, spend time in data, and simplify complex ideas into accessible storytelling.
