Radiowalla Debuts First Show Dubbed Saturday Wala Show
Listeners can tune in to Radiowalla Uganda by downloading the AfroMobile, navigating to the radio section, and selecting Radiowalla Uganda.

A new wave of cultural connection and entertainment hit Uganda’s airwaves this weekend as Radiowalla Uganda officially broadcast its maiden show, The Saturday Wala Show. The debut marks a significant milestone for the Indian community in Uganda, promising to connect, inform, and entertain audiences across the country through vibrant music, engaging discussions, and community-focused content.

Co-host Raj Monga expressed excitement about the station’s launch, describing Radiowalla as “a means to connect the entire Indian community.” He explained that the platform will not only play great music but also spotlight community events and provide advertising opportunities for Indian-owned businesses.

Co-host Tharun Patnaik highlighted the inclusive spirit of the new station, saying, “This radio station is for everyone. We’re a bridge between the Indian and Ugandan communities. Let’s come together to enjoy, celebrate, and share relevant information.”

Paresh Mehta, Chairman of the Indian Association of Uganda, described the launch as “a dream come true” for the community. “Radiowalla will play a major role in connecting our community with our Ugandan friends,” he said. “Music knows no boundaries — with Uganda’s rich culture and India’s vibrant traditions, words and melodies will mix to create history.”

He added that the station will also serve as a platform for cultural exchange, community service, and togetherness. “Through Radiowalla, people can dedicate songs, cover their events, and feel at home even when they’re far away,” Mehta remarked. “It’s all about happiness — a happy family, happy community, and a happy nation.”

The premiere of The Saturday Wala Show featured Radiowalla’s founding team — Siddarth Jain, Amitesh Kumar, Raj Monga, Tharun Patnaik, and Paresh Mehta — all sharing their vision for a platform that celebrates diversity and strengthens the bond between Uganda and India. Siddarth Jain, the show’s DJ, kept the energy high throughout the broadcast with an exciting mix of Indian hits and cross-cultural tracks, setting the perfect tone for Radiowalla’s future programming.
