For the first time in Uganda’s music history, Navio brought Hip-Hop to the grand stage of the Kampala Serena Hotel in a remarkable fusion with an orchestra on Saturday. From the moment the lights dimmed at 9:00 PM to the final bow at 11:30 PM, fans were immersed in an electrifying experience that blended lyrical mastery, live instrumentation, and raw emotion.
The concert was proudly sponsored by AfroMobile and NBS Music, two brands that continue to support Ugandan entertainment and elevate the creative industry. Their involvement was instrumental in bringing Navio’s vision to life and showcasing how far Ugandan Hip-Hop has come and what is possible when talent meets opportunity.
The evening unfolded like a cinematic journey through Navio’s legendary catalogue. From crowd favourites like Ngalo, The Whistle Song, and Nawuliranga to the timeless Bad Man from Kamwokya, the audience could not help but sing, dance, and groove along. The atmosphere inside Serena was charged with nostalgia and pride as every verse echoed the evolution of Ugandan Hip-Hop.
The night was further elevated by powerful collaborations. Navio shared the stage with some of Uganda’s most respected acts, including Cindy Sanyu, The Mith, Sheena Skies, Lyrical G, Flex D’Paper, Vampino, Fefe Bussi, and Viboyo, each adding a unique spark to the already monumental showcase.
A heartfelt prayer from Pastor Wilson Bugembe set a reflective tone at the start of the evening, reminding the audience of the grace behind every success story. There were also surprise performances from Navio’s son, Kingdom, and superstar Elijah Kitaka, moments that showcased the generational bridge Navio continues to build through music.
Among the proud faces in the audience was Dr. Maggie Kigozi, Navio’s mother, whose presence drew cheers and admiration from fans who recognize the role she has played in shaping one of Uganda’s greatest music icons.
