Uganda’s most iconic music group, Afrigo Band, is marking an extraordinary milestone—50 years of musical excellence, and NBS TV, together with AfroMobile are proud to join the celebration.
Set for 16th August 2025 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, the Golden Jubilee will be staged as part of Talent Africa Group’s Legends of Sound concert series, now in its third edition. This historic night will honour Afrigo Band’s unmatched legacy, with Congolese superstar Koffi Olomidé as a special guest, bringing a cross-continental flair to the celebration.
Founded in 1975 by the legendary Moses Matovu, Afrigo Band has become a living symbol of Uganda’s music, culture, and heritage, captivating generations with timeless hits and electrifying performances.
“Afrigo Band is the heartbeat of Uganda’s music legacy, and celebrating 50 years of their magic is more than an event—it’s a moment of national pride. At NBS and AfroMobile, we’re honoured to bring this iconic story to every Ugandan, everywhere. This is our heritage, our sound, our soul,” said Shafik Nekambuza, Senior Manager, Brand Strategy at Next Media.
NBS TV will highlight the anniversary across its platforms, from television to digital channels, framing it as a tribute to Uganda’s musical heritage. Sanyuka TV will broadcast the concert for the wider mainstream audience, while AfroMobile will offer live streaming and on-demand viewing via NBS Music, ensuring fans across the globe can join the celebration.
