FDC digital member registration drive reaches Teso
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president, Patrick Amuriat, has urged the people of Teso to join him in restoring the region's lost pride.
Speaking during the digital registration of party members in Soroti, Amuriat said that FDC is the only party capable of reviving Teso's glory.
"I want ask you my people, journey with me to restore good health ,good road and many things that have gone astray under the ruling party," Amuriat said.
Amuriat's call was met with enthusiasm as business came to a standstill in Soroti city center, with chanting supporters welcoming him.
He urged residents to tell President Museveni "no cow, no vote" and support FDC's vision to rebuild the Teso economy.
Amuriat also vowed to fight corruption, citing selective action against implicated individuals.
"In this coming election let's stand firm ,we have been fooled around in the name of compensation but please tell Museveni when he comes that no cow, no vote."
He said FDC has plans to build a starch factory in Teso to rescue cassava farmers who are frustrated by the fall of price that he said will improve on Teso's economy and fight poverty.
The FDC president announced that over 700 new supporters have registered as party members in the past two days, a testament to the growing support for the party in the region.
The crowd chanted slogans and pledged their support for the FDC leadership, days after they shunned their former Presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Amuriat's message resonated with the crowd, who see FDC as a viable alternative to the ruling party.
The digital registration marks a new era for FDC in Teso and country at large, as the party seeks to revitalize its structures and prepare for future elections.
