The Muslim community in Mbale gathered on July 6 to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Sheikh Salman Faris the Imam of Nakaloke Centre Mosque in Mbale, who completed the Hajj pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Islamic studies.

The Thanksgiving ceremony was attended by family members, dignitaries, and esteemed guests.

Hajji Karim Kaliisa, Managing Director of Salam Charity and Salam TV, emphasized the importance of unity among Muslims for development. He encouraged Muslim leaders to prioritize discipline to set a positive example for their communities.

Hajj Kaliisa also announced Salam Charity's collaboration with local Sheikhs to translate the Quran into the local language, promoting greater understanding and accessibility.

Sheikh Salman Faris expressed his gratitude to his family, friends, and Dr. Erick Kedi of the Kedi Foundation, who sponsored his pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah.

Dr. Erick Kedi of the Keddi Foundation, the guest of honor, appreciated the humanitarian work done by Salam TV and Salam Charity across the country and reiterated the Kedi Foundation's commitment to serving humanity across Africa without discrimination.

Sheikh Miladu Kaluuma, Director of Al Hibbah Hijjah and Umrah Tours, expressed his appreciation for Dr Kedi's outstanding humanitarian work.

Dr Erick Kedi generously donated 500 Hajj slots for the year 2025, entrusting the Salam Charity Foundation with the responsibility of identifying deserving candidates for this prestigious opportunity.

The event highlighted the importance of unity, education, and humanitarian work in the Muslim community.

It also showcased the dedication of Muslim leaders like Sheikh Salman Faris, who embody the values of discipline, hard work, and service to humanity.

In his closing remarks, Hajj Kaliisa emphasised the need for balance between secular education and Islamic studies to achieve success in this life and the hereafter.
