Entebbe: Woman Kills Self After Husband Misuses Shs450,000 Savings

Police in Entebbe have kicked off investigations into circumstances under which a 22 year old woman allegedly stabbed herself and later succumbed to wounds after a quarrel with her husband.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Rachael Kawala said the incident happened in Kitoro zone, Entebbe Municipality on Saturday when Carol Nakigudde developed a misunderstanding with her husband, Husama Mukiibi.

“It's alleged that at around 2300hrs while at their home the deceased Nakigudde Carol picked quarrel with her husband Husama Mukiibi where she demanded the husband to give her, her money shs450.000 since  it was her turn  to receive money from the local savings group.It is alleged the money was  delivered through the husband but  he did not give it to wife,” Kawala said.

According to police, Nakigudde allegedly picked a knife  and stabbed her self around the neck despite several efforts to stop her by the husband .

“She was rushed to Entebbe regional referral hospital where she died from .”

Kawala said investigations into the incident are still under way but urged couples against domestic violence and asked them to make use of the police chief and family protection unit.
