Two officials of Tegeres West Division SACCO have been charged and remanded over allegations of stealing funds meant for beneficiaries of the government’s Parish Development Model (PDM).
The accused, Siwa Moses, the SACCO Chairperson, and Sorowon Sam Kwurus, the SACCO Secretary, were arraigned following a joint operation by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU), the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
They were presented before the Kapchorwa Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of theft and conspiracy to defraud and were remanded until May 14, 2026.
Prosecutors allege that between September and October 2025, the two officials, together with others still at large, conspired to steal money intended for beneficiaries under the Parish Development Model in Kapchorwa District.
The funds were part of the government programme designed to boost household incomes and promote grassroots socio-economic transformation through parish-level financing.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, with law enforcement agencies reaffirming their commitment to fighting corruption and ensuring accountability in the management of public funds meant for community development.
