Police in Busoga East have arrested three people suspected of impersonating First Daughter Natasha Museveni Karugire and businessman Hamis Kiggundu through a network of fake TikTok accounts.
The suspects have been identified as Hassan Mugoya, 27, Ashiraf Kyakatuka, 22, and Asuman Isanga, 20. They were arrested during a joint intelligence-led operation conducted by officers from Kiwatule Police Station and Iganga Central Police Station.
According to Busoga East Regional Police spokesperson Michael Kasadha, the operation followed reports of impersonation linked to social media accounts allegedly posing as high-profile public figures.
“On the 5th May 2026 at around 11:00am, a team of police officers from Kiwatule Police Station together with those from Iganga CPS made a joint operation, following a report of personation of Haji Hamis Kiggundu at Kiwatule Police Station,” Kasadha said.
He said security teams first conducted surveillance before raiding the suspects’ hideout in Nampirika A Village, Bukaye Parish, Nakalama Sub-county in Iganga District.
“Upon arrest, search and interrogation, it was established that the suspects were using TikTok accounts with identities of various people,” he added.
Police investigations indicate that Hassan Mugoya was found with a Samsung A06 phone allegedly hosting two active TikTok accounts under the names “Natasha Karugire” and “The first daughter Natasha mus.”
Ashiraf Kyakatuka was reportedly found with a Samsung phone used to operate multiple accounts including “janet.kataha.muse5,” “natashakar7,” “first.daughter767,” and “ssenga.naisanga.04.”
Asuman Isanga was also found with a Samsung S10 phone linked to a TikTok account named “NATASHA.K MUSEVENI SOUL,” according to police.
Kasadha said the suspects will be transferred to Kampala for prosecution as investigations continue into the broader impersonation network.
He further noted that earlier in the year, on February 3, 2026, security operatives from the Defence Intelligence and Security unit arrested several individuals involved in impersonating Natasha Museveni Karugire, who have since been arraigned in court.
Police say more arrests are expected as investigations into the growing online impersonation racket continue.
