Police Arrest 11 Over  Violent Attack on Students in Apac District

Police in Apac District have arrested 11 suspects in connection with a violent attack on students of Apac Seed Secondary School.

According to Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, the incident occurred on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at around 10:00 p.m.

“Easter celebrations across the North Kyoga Region were generally peaceful, save for a violent incident in Apac District,” Rusoke said.

Police reported that an estimated 15 assailants armed with pangas and knives attacked students of Apac Seed Secondary School who had responded to suspicious movements near the girls’ dormitory. Seven students were injured in the attack, three of them seriously.

Officers from Apac Central Police Station responded to the scene and evacuated six of the victims to Apac Main Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Some of the victims indicated that they can identify certain attackers. Police said investigations are ongoing to apprehend all perpetrators and establish the motive behind the attack.

The injured students have been identified as Ivan Okabo Ojok, Jonathan Alele, Jonathan Oyile, Sam Ocen, Bruce Awany, Ronald Odongo, and Bonny Odur.
