Police in Nansana have announced a major breakthrough in the investigation of recent robberies targeting bank clients in the area.
Between 10th and 14th March 2026, intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of four suspects believed to have waylaid individuals returning from banks, stealing cash and valuables.
The suspects allegedly carried out several attacks near Base Hotel and other banking points within Nansana.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that the group used pangas and boda bodas to commit the robberies and make swift escapes.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to multiple incidents, though police continue to probe the full extent of their network and search for any additional accomplices.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, urged bank clients to exercise caution.
“Members of the public, especially bank clients, should remain vigilant and consider using escorts or safer means when carrying large sums of money,” he said.
Authorities have promised further updates as investigations progress.
