Police Probe Shocking Discovery of Woman’s Body in Luweero
Police in Luweero have opened a homicide investigation after relatives found the decomposed body of Aisha Mirembe wrapped in bedding inside her locked home, raising questions about how she went missing for months without detection and who may have been responsible for concealing her death.

The Territorial Police in Luweero District have launched investigations into the suspected murder of a woman whose decomposed body was discovered in her home in Nabitete Village, Kalagala Sub-county.

The deceased, identified as Aisha Mirembe, had reportedly been missing for about six months before relatives found her body.

According to ASP Sam Twiineamazima, the PRO for Savannah Region, the condition in which the body was recovered strongly suggests foul play.

“The body was wrapped in several bedsheets and a mat, which indicates an attempt to hide both the remains and the smell,” he said.

He added that the position of the body inside the locked bedroom raised further suspicion.

“This was not a natural death. Someone took deliberate steps to conceal what happened,” he noted.

Detectives believe the perpetrator may have been someone close to the deceased. “Our preliminary findings point to a person who had access to the premises, possibly a lover or relative,” ASP Twiineamazima revealed.

A postmortem examination is currently underway at Mulago City Mortuary to establish the exact cause of death. Police say the results will guide the next phase of investigations.

ASP Twiineamazima appealed to the public for cooperation.

“We urge anyone with information that could help identify the suspect or reconstruct the victim’s last days to come forward. Your assistance is crucial.”

Police have intensified efforts to track down the suspect or suspects behind the killing and say updates will be provided as investigations progress.
