How Police Foiled Shs50M Coffee Cash Robbery in Kyotera
Two guns and a motorcycle were recovered.

Police have reported foiling a shs50 million robbery in Kyotera after armed thugs attacked a coffee factory in Kyotera.

The broad-day light incident that happened at  Kifuta Village, Kabira Sub county in  Kyotera District saw a group of five armed men attack Andrew Kagwa, 40, the manager for Mazima Bugaga Coffee factory.

After the attack, the group riding on motorcycles fled the scene with shs50 million they had robbed from the coffee factory manager.

Meanwhile, the victim, Lubega reported the matter to Kyotera Police and a case of aggravate robbery under CRB 560/2025 registered.

On getting the information, the Kyotera District Police Commander organisd a team that gave a hot pursuit to the robbers who are said to have fled the scene heading to Masaka, via Kyesiga.

Meanwhile, coordinated efforts also saw a regional team headed by the Regional Police Commander, Regional CID Commander and the Crime Intelligence join the hunt.

Consequently, the five armed thugs were cornered at Kizigo Village where police opened fire at them.

In the resultant melee, one of the robbers was put out action which four others escaped with injuries.

Two guns and  a motorcycle, Bajaj registration number UFV 988N have since been recovered from the scene while the deceased suspect has been identified as Lawrence Ssenyumu.

This website has separately learnt that detectives are now trying to find out the ownership of the motorcycle but also get the bio data for the suspects from NIRA but also trace for their associates.

Police teams have also started the process of retrieving CCTV footage from the coffee factory as well as submitting exhibits in form of guns to ballistic experts for analysis as inquiries continue.
