National Medical Stores vehicle implicated in hit and run accident in Amudat

A National Medical Stores vehicle has been implicated in a hit-and-run accident that severely injured 18-year-old Susan Gimono near Karita Primary School.
The incident occurred on Friday, January 24, in Karira Sub County, Amudat district leaving residents and authorities in suspense as initial witnesses struggled to identify the vehicle involved.

However, after a thorough investigation, police confirmed the culprit as a vehicle with registration number UBL 803H, belonging to the National Medical Store.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was speeding when it hit the young woman
"The car was overspeeding, after the incident the driver fled the scene towards Amudat town," Joseph Lolem said
Susan Gimono was rushed to Karita Health Center for treatment, where her condition remains critical.
“We are committed to ensuring justice for the victim,” Mike Longole police spokesperson for Karamoja stated.
“The driver involved will be brought to account for their actions.”
The incident has sparked outrage among local residents, who are calling for stricter measures to curb reckless driving. Investigations are ongoing.
