Man kills wife, presents self to LC1 chairman
A man in Kampala has handed himself to the Local Council One chairman’s office confessing to killing his wife .
According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, Saadi Maganda , 31, a casual worker handed himself over to the office of Kanyanya Zone LC1 in Ndejje Parish in Makindye division.

“It is alleged that Maganda presented himself and said he had killed is wife, Faridah Aliba, 20 in an incident that occurred at around 11am at Kanyanya zone,” Owoyesigyire said.
Consequently, the area defence secretary, Godfrey Mugalu reported the matter to Ndejje Police Station, prompting police to rush to the scene where the deceased’s body was recovered in a pool of blood ,a knife and stone.
Preliminary findings
This website has learnt that police preliminary findings indicate the Maganda has been cohabiting with Aliba for five years and their relationship bore a four year old girl.
The couple recently got misunderstandings when she told him that he would be leaving to go back to her parents’ home after advice by her mother for his failure to pay dowry .
It is also said that on the fateful day, Maganda attempted to commit suicide by cutting his own neck but failed but sustained a deep cut .
“Maganda remained in the house until today morning when he went to the office of LC1 Kanyanya zone and he told the chairman and the team that he killed his wife,” Owoyesigyire said.
He noted that the deceased’s body has been taken to the city mortuary for postmortem while the suspect has been admitted to Mulago for treatment.
Investigations into the matter have kicked off under SD Ref 14/04/10/2024 of Ndejje Police Station.
