Police in Kampala have arrested a man who was found selling a census tablet stolen from Luweero.

Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said on Monday that Fred Ssekamanya was arrested by Katwe police as he tried to sell the gadget.

“He was arrested from Ssembuule zone in Lubaga division trying to sell the tablet. Preliminary investigations have indicated that the tabled had been stolen from Luweero,” Owoyesigyire said.

Police in Luweero last week arrested an enumerator who reported that the census gadget had been stolen from him.

Marvis Wamuzigo was arrested and detained at Luweero Police Station after the gadget was from his home  in Bukalasa zone, Wobulenzi town at night.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga added that a total of seven census tablets have so far been stolen throughout the country in Luweero, Busia, Nakaseke, Wakiso, Nsangi and Lyantonde.
