Man jailed 20 months for impersonating Gomba RDC to steal shs120m

Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court has sentenced a man to 20 months imprisonment for impersonating the Gomba Resident District Commissioner and defrauded Kampala lawyer, Jet Tumwebaze of shs120 million.
Paul Ssaku, a businessman and resident of Lwabayaga zone, Kyabagama sub county in Gomba district was convicted of falsely pretending that he was going to compensate the squatters on the land of late General Aronda Nyakayirima but fleeced the lawyer of money totalling to shs120 million.

Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, Ronald Kayizzi convicted Ssaku after he changed his mind to plead guilty to the charges.
Consequently, court sentenced him to 20 months imprisonment but also ordered to pay back the shs120 million in five months .
The chief magistrate ruled that failure to pay the shs120 million, Ssakuโs property will be attached to enable the lawyer recover his money.
