RUBiS Energy Uganda Backs CRS Racing Team Ahead of Pearl of Africa Rally

RUBiS Energy Uganda, in partnership with Castrol, has announced its sponsorship of CRS Racing, the accomplished Kenyan rally team led by brothers Jasmeet Chana and Ravi Chana, ahead of the 2026 Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally currently underway in Mbarara.

The partnership was unveiled at the RUBiS Kakoba Service Station in Mbarara and marks a significant expansion of RUBiS Energy Uganda’s motorsport involvement in the region. The sponsorship builds on the team’s recent strong performances on the continental and global rally stage.

CRS Racing heads into the Pearl Rally in impressive form following a standout performance at the WRC Safari Rally in Kenya, where the Chana brothers secured victory in their Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) category despite difficult racing conditions. Renowned for their resilience, consistency, and technical precision, the duo will compete in Uganda aboard their Ford Fiesta Rally2.

The Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, one of the continent’s most demanding motorsport events, also serves as a round of both the FIA African Rally Championship (ARC) and the Uganda National Rally Championship (NRC). The competition is famed for its challenging red-soil terrain and unpredictable weather conditions across the districts of Mbarara and Kiruhura.

This year’s edition has attracted a record 65 crews, making it one of the most competitive in recent history with participation from top regional drivers and experienced ARC contenders.

The sponsorship reflects RUBiS Energy Uganda’s strategy of aligning with high-performance sporting platforms that embody endurance, reliability, and excellence under pressure. It also strengthens the regional motorsport collaboration already established between RUBiS Energy Kenya and Castrol.

Speaking during the announcement, RUBiS Energy Uganda Managing Director William Fillet said the partnership aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting excellence in motorsport.

“Motorsport is the ultimate test of performance, precision, and resilience — qualities that define both CRS Racing and the RUBiS brand together with the high-performance Castrol lubricants,” Fillet said.

“Our support for Jasmeet and Ravi Chana is not only a celebration of their proven track record but also a reflection of our commitment to powering champions across every terrain. As they take on the Pearl of Africa Rally, we are proud to stand behind a team that embodies excellence and determination at the highest level,” he added.

The partnership is also expected to deepen engagement between the RUBiS and Castrol brands and Uganda’s growing motorsport audience by leveraging the excitement and visibility of rally competition.

By associating with a team known for delivering strong performances under extreme racing conditions, RUBiS positions itself as a premium fuel and lubricant partner capable of meeting the demands of both everyday motorists and elite rally competitors.

The rally, which runs from  today, May 7 to May 10, will see crews tackle several technical stages across the Ankole region, including fan-favorite routes such as Kaguta and Ankole Cow.

With strong regional backing and renewed momentum, the Chana brothers will be aiming not only for podium success but also to strengthen their standing among Africa’s top rally crews.

RUBiS Energy Uganda said its continued investment in motorsport is part of broader efforts to champion excellence, performance, and innovation while strengthening brand relevance across key regional markets.
