It formed part of Vivo Energy’s ongoing efforts to promote transparency and strengthen confidence in the integrity of its fuel supply chain.

During the tour, participants visited fuel depots, the LPG filling plant, and the product quality laboratory, observing how fuels and lubricants are received, tested, stored, and dispatched nationwide.

Each batch undergoes a multi-stage quality assurance process, with laboratory sampling and testing before clearance for delivery.

Joanita Mukasa Menya, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda, said the visit reflects the company’s commitment to transparency and consistent quality.

She highlighted that the Kampala Tank Farm houses the country’s first ISO/IEC 17025 accredited fuel quality laboratory, which applies globally recognized standards in testing and calibration.

“Trust in energy products is built through consistency and transparency. By hosting stakeholders, we are demonstrating the systems, technology, and expertise that ensure Shell fuels, lubricants, and LPG meet the highest standards before reaching customers,” Menya said.

The engagement also highlighted Vivo Energy’s investments in infrastructure, operational technology, and skills development to meet Uganda’s growing energy demand.

Menya noted that Shell fuels are formulated with advanced additives to protect engines and improve combustion efficiency, while high-performance lubricants reduce friction, lower maintenance costs, and extend vehicle life.

Rashid Ssekindi, Chairman of the Federation of Uganda Taxi Operators, welcomed the engagement, noting that reliable fuel directly supports vehicle performance, reduces operating costs, and improves productivity for commercial transport operators.

The tour also emphasized safety, with stakeholders guided through Vivo Energy’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental procedures that govern fuel and LPG handling, storage, and dispatch.

The visit underscores Vivo Energy Uganda’s commitment to responsible operations, customer trust, and continued investment in safe, reliable, and high-quality energy solutions for Ugandan motorists, businesses, and households.
