Pilsner Lager has strengthened its ties with Tooro Kingdom by contributing Shs 150 million towards the kingdom’s 30th Coronation Anniversary celebrations.

The announcement was made at Buziga Palace during the welcome of Princess Ruth Komuntale, UTB’s newly appointed Tourism Ambassador, who returned to Uganda for her brother’s Empango festivities scheduled for September 12 in Fort Portal. The milestone marks three decades of leadership for His Royal Highness Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.

Pilsner Lager’s sponsorship reflects the brand’s enduring commitment to celebrating Uganda’s heritage and promoting cultural traditions.

Lillian Kansiime, Pilsner Lager Brand Representative, said, “Pilsner Lager is proud to celebrate the people of Uganda and our shared heritage. We are honoured to continue this partnership with Tooro Kingdom for another two years and to toast Omukama Oyo and the kingdom’s enduring legacy.”

Princess Ruth Komuntale praised UTB’s efforts in blending culture and tourism, noting that Empango celebrations provide a platform to showcase Tooro’s rich traditions and attract visitors.

Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group, the official event partner, highlighted the festival’s cultural and entertainment significance. The festivities will feature performances by Cindy Sanyu, Irene Hinda, Atwooki Richie, Muzamiru, Big Doug, Zaya Rossette, DJ Hash, and MC Droppa, among others.

Pilsner Lager has a long-standing history with Tooro Kingdom’s Empango celebrations, having previously partnered during the kingdom’s 200th anniversary in 2022.

This contribution will support key aspects of the anniversary, including the Kyoto Ha Mpango ceremony on the eve of the Coronation, ensuring that cultural celebrations are observed with dignity and grandeur.

The 30th Empango festivities are expected to attract thousands of attendees to Fort Portal, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between cultural institutions and corporate partners in promoting Uganda’s heritage.
