Rubis Energy Uganda has appointed William Fillet as its new Managing Director, marking the start of an ambitious phase of growth and innovation in the country’s energy sector.

He succeeds Olivier Gatera, who takes on a new assignment within RUBiS Energy East Africa.

With more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry, Fillet will focus on expanding RUBiS Energy Uganda’s market footprint, ensuring sustainable business growth, and delivering value-driven energy solutions to customers.

“My commitment is to deepen innovation and sustainability within our businesses and the communities we serve. RUBiS Energy’s mission is to provide reliable energy solutions for everyone while driving progress and development. We will achieve this by advancing clean energy solutions, expanding innovative products like RUBiS ULTRA TEC Advanced Fuel Technology, RUBiS Gas, and Castrol lubricants, while strengthening community engagement and investing in our people.”

Reflecting on his tenure, outgoing MD Gatera praised the Ugandan team and market.

“The resilience and warmth of the Ugandan people have truly humbled me. Together, we expanded our network to over 70 service stations, including 26 Enjoy convenience stores, and launched innovative products like the Rubis Card, while digitizing customer experiences through platforms such as the Rubis App,” he said.

Under Fillet’s leadership, RUBiS Energy Uganda has reaffirmed commitment to providing high-quality energy products and services while upholding safety, sustainability, and customer-centric innovation.
