MTN MoMo Brings Festive Cheer to Jinja City with Big Wins
MTN Uganda has brought the festive season to life in Jinja City with its exciting Pay with MoMo and Win campaign, rewarding loyal customers and promoting cashless transactions.
The MTN MoMo caravan lit up Bugembe, along the Jinja-Iganga highway, with thrilling activities, including a chance to spin the wheel of fortune and win amazing prizes.
Two lucky winners, Sadat Muwayi Idude from Iganga Town and Musa Muyanda from Nakanyonyi in Bugembe, each walked away with Shs1 million in cash.
Their consistent use of MTN MoMo for transactions earned them the coveted prizes.
Sadat Muwayi, a businessman and town agent in Bugweri District, praised the benefits of using MTN MoMo for daily transactions.
"I adopted the idea of a cashless economy, so I don’t carry cash. I use MTN MoMo for all payments, and that’s how I qualified to win,” he said.
He shared his excitement upon learning of his win: “I received a call from Moses Golola informing me that I had won Shs 1M. I couldn’t believe it until today when I received the money.”
Similarly, 50-year-old Musa Muyanda, a truck driver with Nile Breweries, explained how MTN MoMo has become integral to his lifestyle.
“As a truck driver, I am always on the move but still need to make payments, whether for school fees or other personal needs. MTN MoMo makes it easy, and I’m grateful to be a winner,” he said.

Other winners included Rehema Nalumansi and Isma Garanga, both from Bugembe, who each won Shs250,000 worth of shopping at K2 Supermarket in bugembe town after spinning the wheel of fortune.
“My Christmas shopping is done! I’ve gotten everything I need for an enjoyable festive season,” Garanga exclaimed.
Moses Byakagaba, the Trade Marketing Officer for MTN MoMo, encouraged customers to embrace mobile money for its convenience and security.
“Paying with MTN MoMo not only simplifies transactions but also gives customers a chance to win fantastic prizes,” Byakagaba said.
He added that every payment made using MTN MoMo automatically enters the customer into a draw for a chance to win cash prizes, shopping vouchers, and other goodies.
The Pay with MoMo and Win campaign reflects MTN’s commitment to giving back to its customers while promoting cashless transactions.
