Glovo Uganda, a  leading multi-category app has announced  its inaugural e-commerce Day—a groundbreaking event designed to equip SMEs with the tools and strategies they need to succeed in the fast-changing digital economy.

Scheduled for tomorrow, December, 5,  in Kampala, the event will bring together SME owners, industry experts, Glovo partners, and thought leaders alongside local and international brands to foster innovation, unlock growth opportunities, and drive digital transformation across sectors.

According to organisers, the event will have interactive workshops, practical strategies to scale businesses, build brands, streamline operations, tailored advice on financial literacy, invoicing, and payment cycles and networking sessions.

According to officials, the inaugural Glovo e-commerce day is a catalyst for growth, equipping SMEs with lasting tools, actionable strategies, and connections to navigate and lead in Uganda’s rapidly evolving e-commerce ecosystem.

“SMEs are the future of Uganda’s economy. At Glovo, we are committed to helping these businesses overcome logistical challenges, connect with new customers, and embrace the digital transformation shaping industries globally. This event is a celebration of their resilience and our investment in their success,” said Ivy Maingi, General Manager, Glovo Uganda.

Charity Abei, Q-commerce Lead for Glovo Uganda said the event underscores Glovo’s mission to position SMEs at the forefront of Uganda’s digital transformation, empowering businesses to thrive sustainably.

“Through Glovo E-commerce Day, we aim to provide SMEs with practical knowledge, actionable tools, and access to scalable solutions. Our goal is to empower entrepreneurs to adapt to digital changes, embrace innovation, and grow sustainably in a competitive market.”

According Samantha Bwete, Sales and Account Management Lead for Glovo Uganda, the  Glovo e-commerce day is all about building bridges.
