KAMPALA | Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) has so far awarded prizes worth Shs254 million through its popular Laga Swagga promotion, which encourages customers to participate by purchasing select spirits brands.

Participants who purchase Uganda Waragi, V&A, Bond 7, or Gilbeys have the chance to win exciting prizes, including instant cash rewards and weekly draws.
Winners have emerged from Kampala, Jinja, Mbale, Gulu, Mbarara, Hoima, Fort Portal, and Arua, reflecting the widespread appeal of the promotion.
Mr Hillary Baguma, manager for Mainstream Spirits at UBL, expressed delight with the enthusiastic response from consumers.
“We are thrilled with the level of engagement Laga Swagga has generated so far. It’s heartwarming to see our customers happily enjoying the rewards, and we encourage everyone to keep participating because we still have five weeks to go, and there are still plenty of prizes to be won, including the grand prize of Shs50 million,” Baguma said.
To enter the promotion, consumers purchase participating products—Uganda Waragi Premium, Coconut, Lemon and Ginger, Bond 7, Gilbeys, or V&A—and submit a special code found under the bottle cap via SMS to 6688.
Each entry offers a chance to win instant cash or airtime and to qualify for the weekly draw, broadcast live every Thursday evening on NBS, NTV, Bukedde TV, and Galaxy TV.
One of the recent winners, Shafiq Kyewalabye, a boda boda rider from Nansana, was overjoyed after receiving Shs500,000.
“At first, I didn’t believe it when I got the call, but it was real! I got my money, and I encourage everyone to participate. You could be the next winner, just like me. Thank you, UBL, for my money,” Kyewalabye shared.
So far, the promotion has awarded Shs230 million in airtime and Shs24.5 million in weekly cash prizes.
With five more weeks to go, UBL is encouraging customers to continue participating for a chance to win even more exciting rewards, including the grand prize of Shs50 million.
Baguma emphasized that the promotion is only open to those aged 18 and above and reminded consumers to drink responsibly as they enjoy their favorite UBL spirits brands.
