CFAO’s hybrid electric cars to be route openers for 2024 Rwenzori Marathon

The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon has announced that Toyota by CFAO will once again serve as the official marathon mobility partner for the 2024 event.

This year, Toyota by CFAO will be providing Hybrid Electric lead cars for the 42 km and 21 km race routes.

Speaking on Wednesday, Isaac Tegule, the marketing manager of CFAO Mobility said partnership with Toyota by CFAO is a cornerstone of the marathon, emphasizing the shared values of endurance, innovation, and community engagement.

He noted the vehicles will ensure the seamless execution of the race, offering essential support and safety for the participants.

“As CFAO Mobility, we are proud to support an event that fosters community engagement and development while promoting talent discovery. This year, by providing Hybrid Electric vehicles as lead cars, we highlight Toyota’s dedication to sustainability and innovation. Our commitment ensures the marathon benefits from the highest standards of reliability and efficiency,” Tegule said.

According to officials, the two lead cars, a Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric and Toyota Rav4 Hybrid Electric SUVs blend style, comfort, and versatility with eco-friendly hybrid technology.

“They are self-charging HEVs that enhance efficiency by combining an electric motor with a gasoline engine, reducing emissions and minimizing environmental impact while providing a top-notch driving experience.”

Amos Wekesa, the  Team Lead of the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon, expressed  enthusiasm for the continued collaboration.

"We are excited to have Toyota by CFAO back as our marathon mobility partner! Their support means the world to us and makes a huge difference. With their Hybrid Electric cars leading the way, we look forward to another successful event this year."

He said with support from Toyota by CFAO, the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon will continue promoting tourism in Uganda.
