The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has joined the list of organizations supporting the upcoming Busoga Royal Wedding, scheduled to take place this Saturday.

Led by the Commissioner General, John Musinguzi, URA presented a cheque of Shs 26 million to Eng. Patrick Batumbya, the chairman of the royal wedding committee, at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala.

Expressing gratitude, Batumbya thanked URA for being a valuable partner that not only receives but also gives back to the community.

"The Busoga community appreciates the support from an organization that is often seen as solely focused on collection. This gesture demonstrates the government's recognition of the importance of culture in fostering unity within the country," he remarked.

Batumbya extended an invitation to URA's staff and management to celebrate this significant milestone in the development of the Busoga region.

Musinguzi highlighted that URA's contribution was an opportunity to show solidarity with the kingdom, its colleagues, and supporters as they celebrate the joyous occasion of the royal wedding.

"In addition, URA's contribution comes not only from the corporate body but also from our resourceful and dedicated staff, some of whom hail from Busoga," he added.

Musinguzi expressed appreciation to the community for allowing the tax body to give back and reiterated URA's commitment to engage with all leaders, including traditional institutions, to mobilize Ugandans to fulfill their tax obligations for national development.
