This marks the second time Kabale District has benefited from the Ministry of Health’s ambulance distribution program in recent years. In November 2023, the district also received an ambulance as part of a nationwide distribution of 53 ambulances to various regions and constituencies.

District leaders and health officials say the newly acquired ambulance is expected to improve emergency response, strengthen referral services, and ease the transportation of critically ill patients within Kabale and neighboring areas.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng welcomed the donation, describing it as timely and important in improving the country’s healthcare system.

“These ambulances will help in making referrals easier,” Dr Aceng said.

The Ministry of Health says the donation is part of ongoing efforts to improve access to emergency medical services, especially in hard-to-reach districts where transport challenges continue to affect patient care.
