Brig Gen Godfrey Muwanguzi, acting Deputy Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), has concluded an extensive nationwide tour aimed at enhancing the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM).
Covering 18 regions, the tour focused on raising awareness, evaluating progress, and addressing service delivery gaps at the grassroots level.
In Mityana District, part of the Mubende sub-region, Muwanguzi met with key stakeholders, including OWC coordinators, Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Local Council V (LCV) leaders, and PDM focal persons.
These interactive sessions provided opportunities to identify challenges, share experiences, and devise strategies to ensure the program's success.
“The success of the Parish Development Model lies in seamless collaboration between local leaders and OWC teams. By working together, we can unlock the full potential of this initiative to uplift our communities,” Muwanguzi emphasized.
During the tour, Muwanguzi also assessed the utilization of PDM funds by engaging with enterprise group leaders and beneficiaries, gaining direct insights into the program’s impact on the ground.
Dr. Edward Katende, CEO of the Uganda Development Forum and a representative of the PDM Secretariat, joined Muwanguzi on the tour.
He highlighted the transformative potential of the program, stating, “The Parish Development Model is a holistic government strategy designed to improve agricultural output, generate employment, and raise household incomes. It is a tool for delivering services that directly enhance the quality of life for Ugandans.”
The tour covered regions such as Acholi, Lango, Teso, Bunyoro, Bugisu, and Ankole, demonstrating OWC’s commitment to understanding local challenges and tailoring solutions to regional needs.
By fostering meaningful engagement with stakeholders and addressing their concerns, Operation Wealth Creation is driving tangible progress.
Its collaborative efforts are ensuring the Parish Development Model delivers sustainable development and uplifts communities across Uganda.
