Fraudsters posing as NBS journalists exposed for targeting schools
An alleged fraudster, identified as Vincent, has been defrauding several schools claiming to be an employee of NBS Television attached to the station’s Youth Voice program.
Reports indicate that Vincent approached multiple education institutions, soliciting funds under the pretense of providing media coverage and other benefits.

He is not the only one who has over time wanted to be associated with the mighty NBS. Another individual, Yasin Sozi, was implicated in similar fraudulent activities and was later apprehended.
In response to these allegations, Next Media, home of NBS Television has launched an investigation to expose whoever is discovered to be engaging in fraudulent actions using the station’s name.
The organization, known for its commitment to integrity in journalism, has clarified that neither Sozi nor Vincent is affiliated with NBS TV as an employee, trainee, or even intern.
Next Media has warned schools and the public to exercise caution and not engage anyone in the field who asks for money to do any work associated with the brands.
Recently, Next Media in partnership with Uganda Police, and Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) launched a nationwide campaign to combat disinformation misinformation and fake news.
This initiative aims to safeguard national security by addressing the spread of fabricated stories, particularly on social media, which authorities warn could incite violence, destabilize communities, and erode public trust.
