Buddu County has officially unveiled its team leadership ahead of this year’s Masaza Cup tournament, retaining Eric Kisuze as head coach despite last season’s group-stage exit.
Kisuze, who guided Buddu in the previous campaign but failed to progress beyond the group stages, returns with renewed determination. He will be assisted by a technical team that includes Sam Ssekito and Simon Gitta, among others.
During the unveiling ceremony presided over by Buddu’s Pokino Jude Muleke, key officials were also introduced. Joseph Lutaaya was named team chairman, while Steven Zziwa takes on the role of team manager. Brian Muwonge will oversee technical affairs.
The Bishop of Masaka Catholic Diocese, Severus Jjumba, was unveiled as the patron of Buddu County.
Speaking at the event, Muleke urged fans to uphold discipline and keep politics out of sports.
“I call upon all supporters to maintain discipline and avoid mixing politics with football. Let us focus on unity and supporting our team,” he said.
Head coach Eric Kisuze expressed confidence in the team’s preparations, vowing to fight hard to bring the Masaza Cup trophy back to Buddu.
“We are going to give it our all this season. Our target is clear, to win the trophy. I call upon all Buddu people to support us and work together,” Kisuze said.
Team manager Steven Zziwa and chairman Joseph Lutaaya said preparations are on track, revealing that a strong squad has already been assembled.
“We want to assure the people of Buddu that we are ready. We have recruited quality players who will help us compete and return Buddu to the top,” they said.
