“We want fans to fully identify with their team. Their support will play a big role in motivating the players,” Kanaabi said.

He also tasked the technical committee with identifying and nurturing talent, emphasising that priority should be given to players from Kyaggwe County to strengthen local representation.

Ronald Ssali has been confirmed as head coach for the upcoming campaign. Ssali, who currently coaches at Bukedea Comprehensive School and previously served as assistant coach of Uganda’s national Under-17 team, brings experience from multiple Masaza Cup stints, including with Mawokota, Bulemeezi and Buweekula.

He will be assisted by a technical team that includes Mugerwa Simon Peter as technical advisor and William Kyeswa, both of whom have previously handled the Kyaggwe side.

Ssali promised a competitive campaign and called on supporters to turn up in large numbers, noting that fan presence can significantly boost player morale.

Sekiboobo Matovu expressed confidence in the squad, revealing that quality players have already been recruited and contracted. He challenged the team to start strongly by winning their opening matches to build momentum.

He also urged fans to remain disciplined during games and to channel concerns through the committee to avoid disruptions.

Kyaggwe has come close to lifting the Masaza Cup in recent years. The team reached the 2024 final but fell short, and last season they were eliminated at the semi-final stage by eventual champions Buweekula. Buweekula went on to defeat Ssingo in the final at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo.
