Stewards from Bugerere County have undergone a specialized training session aimed at strengthening discipline, crowd control, and security management ahead of the upcoming Masaza Cup.

The training, organized under the Buganda Kingdom sports structures, focused on preparing stewards to effectively manage matchday environments, ensure fan safety, and uphold the values of the kingdom during the highly anticipated competition.

Speaking during the session, Hassan Kiyemba, Principal Youth Officer of Buganda Kingdom, emphasized the critical role stewards play in maintaining order and protecting the integrity of the tournament.

“Stewards are the backbone of matchday organization. Without discipline and vigilance, the success of the Masaza Cup can easily be compromised,” he said.

He urged participants to remain professional, avoid involvement in acts of indiscipline, and work closely with security agencies to prevent chaos during matches.

“We expect you to be exemplary. Do not engage in fights, do not take sides, and always prioritize the safety of spectators,” he added.

The session also covered key areas such as emergency response, communication skills, and handling unruly fans—issues that have previously affected the smooth running of matches in some counties.
