Premier League Guinness Matchday Masaka Braces for Arsenal vs Man City Showdown at Guinness Matchday Tour Sports

Football fans in Masaka are gearing up for a thrilling matchday experience as the Guinness Matchday on Tour heads to Masaka Sports Club this Sunday, April 19, bringing with it a high-stakes Premier League clash between Arsenal and Manchester City.

The fixture, widely seen as a potential title decider, comes at a critical stage of the 2025/26 Premier League season, which has been marked by unpredictable results and intense competition among top teams.

Ugandan fans have followed much of this action through Guinness Matchday on Tour activations held across the country, where supporters gather to watch matches on big screens while enjoying a lively, shared football experience.

Sunday’s Masaka edition is expected to deliver heightened drama following recent results that have reshaped the title race. Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth, denting their momentum, while Manchester City boosted their chances with a dominant 3-0 win over Chelsea.

The 6:30 PM encounter at the Etihad Stadium now carries significant implications. Arsenal must maintain a perfect run in their remaining six matches to secure the title, while Manchester City, currently six points behind with a game in hand, need consistent wins to close the gap.

Masaka, known for its passionate football following—particularly among Arsenal supporters—is expected to host an electric atmosphere as fans gather for what many are calling a “judgement day” clash.

Earlier in the day, fans will also enjoy other Premier League fixtures, including the 247th Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool. Additional matches will see Aston Villa face Sunderland, while Nottingham Forest take on Burnley.

Beyond football, the event will feature entertainment from DJs Woodgate, Brattah and Andy DJ, who will keep fans engaged throughout the day. Music artist Ava Peace is set to headline the after-party with a live performance.

Fans in other parts of the country will also be able to join the experience through simultaneous activations at The Villa Bukoto, Supremacy Lounge, D’Ajango, D Plus and D Plus.

Speaking ahead of the event, Guinness Brand Manager at Uganda Breweries Limited, Denise Paula Nazzinda, said the Masaka activation carries the highest stakes of the season.

“The banter over the past few days has been on another level. We expect fans to be on the edge of their seats, and I encourage everyone to turn up and be part of this exciting experience,” she said.

Fans attending the event will also enjoy Guinness beverages at special matchday prices, alongside opportunities to win branded merchandise.

Organisers say the Masaka stop is set to combine football, entertainment and fan culture into one of the most memorable matchday experiences of the season.
