The Nile Special Uganda Sevens Series moves to Entebbe this weekend for its third circuit, promising high-stakes rugby action as teams battle for supremacy in the national sevens standings.

The Entebbe 7s follows a thrilling Gulu 7s, where Avengers and Buffaloes showcased impressive form, and the Kabaka Coronation Sevens, which saw Thunderbirds and Walukuba Barbarians light up the field with dominant performances. These results have reshaped the men’s and women’s rankings, setting the stage for a competitive showdown at Entebbe.

This year, the tournament will take place at Entebbe Mongers’ new home in Kawuku, offering upgraded facilities and a fresh setting for players and fans. A total of 24 teams—12 men’s and 12 women’s—will compete across pool matches leading to the finals, all eager to make their mark on the series.

Pools for both the men’s and women’s competitions were drawn live on NBS Sport on Tuesday morning. The women’s pools are balanced, while Pool B has emerged as the men’s “pool of death,” promising thrilling encounters.

They are joined by Panthers (women), plus Impis, Warriors, and Jaguars (men), who enter as non-core invitational teams from the Central Region.

As the series stands, Thunderbirds and Walukuba Barbarians are atop the women’s and men’s tables respectively, making Entebbe a critical stage for teams aiming to consolidate their positions ahead of the final legs of the series.
