All eyes were on Busoga political heavyweights Rebecca Kadaga and Persis Namuganza as they made their way to Kololo on Tuesday, where NRM chairman and presidential flag bearer Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to address his post-nomination rally.

The two leaders, who recently suffered bruising defeats in the party’s Central Executive Committee race and primaries, respectively, have remained in the spotlight as the opposition sought to woo them.

Namuganza, the State Minister for Lands, has been dogged by speculation that she might contest as an independent in Bukono County, Namutumba District.
