“We urge Ugandans to take personal responsibility and strictly WEAR A MASK as a primary shield at all times. Each time you do not wear a mask, you put your life and that of your family, friends, and work mates at risk. Let’s do this together, and this way we shall remain safe, alive and continue normally with our businesses,"said Elly Karuhanga, Chairman PSFU

Ricky Rapa Thompson (SafeBoda co-founder), on behalf of key industry partners in the boda boda community, highlighted the importance of unity in the boda boda industry to promote safety.

“Boda bodas are one of the main forms of transportation in Kampala and Uganda. It’s therefore important that we unite as the boda boda industry because we have the power to impact the behaviour of our customers and the public in adhering to SOPs and reducing the spread of COVID-19,” he said.

To push this campaign, PSFU will partner with MasterCard Foundation, SafeBoda, KACITA, PRAU, Civil society, and religious leaders.
