The state minister for Water, Ronald Kibuule has pledged to improve access to clean and safe water across different parts of the country as he embarks in the new term in the office.
He made the remarks while commissioning a water well in Mukono district constructed by the Chinese for vulnerable communities over the weekend.
He said that population in this area of Mukono is growing each day and the area also has over 15 factories leading to the shortage of clean and safe water for locals.
He said the idea of improving access to clean and safe water in different parts of the country is to reduce the risk of contracting diseases associated with water.
He urged the community to maintain and protect the well from contamination.
"I thank the investors particularly for this initiative and they will continue doing more as part of their social corporate responsibility in Uganda," he said.
Kibuule also applauded President Museveni for reappointing him as the state minister for Water in the Saturday cabinet reshuffle that saw some ministers exit their cabinet positions.
The beneficiary of the well applauded the Chinese for constructing water well project in the community.
Residents also urged the Chinese to construct more such projects because they help improve the livelihood of the locals.
