In the 74th minute, the hosts were at it again when David Owori doubled the lead with a cheeky goal which ensured the faded giants comfortably led the game on Wednesday.

It was a bad day in office for Wakiso Giants skipper, Fahad Kawooya who had earlier had his goal disallowed but later shown marching orders for a second bookable offence.

He had to endure watching his team lose from the dressing room.

For SC Villa was good on the day that they continued dictating play at Namboole and the final whistle was a sigh of relief for the new league entrants.

The game ended two-nil in favour of the record league champions and they moved to second on the log, with 15 points whereas Wakiso Giants remain 8th on 10 points.

Speaking of the game, SC Villa coach, Edward Kaziba praised his boys for the magnificent display against Wakiso Giants.

“Such results are good for us. In the first half, we were sluggish but the boys improved in the second half. It is encouraging that each day that passes, my players continue to improve,” the excited Kaziba told journalists.

He noted that his team is now playing at 58% but promised with time, they will be at 100%.

For Wakiso Giants coach, Kefa Kisala, his team handled the game well in the first half but lost concentration in the second stanza that saw them get punished.

“We created chances but didn’t convert them. In the second half, we lost concentration and we got punished.  After scoring the first goal, we could not reach them (SC Villa),”Kisala said.
