UPL: KCCA FC sign Simon Sserunkuuma as Geoffrey joins novices Wakiso Giants

Lugogo based KCCA FC have signed Simon Sserunkuuma from Tooro United.

The club on Monday evening announced the signing of the enterprising midfielder on a two-year contract that will run until August 2021.

“I am delighted to join KCCA FC. The club has a rich history and an enviable way of doing things. Now that I am here, I want to win trophies with these players and I want to add on the success that I have found here,” Sserunkuuma said.

The once most expensive player in Ugandan football is a journeyman having played for Super Cubs FC, Mutundwe Lions, Victors FC, SC Villa, Express, Bunamwaya, Vipers, Simba FC and previously Tooro United.

He guided the latter to fourth position in the just concluded StarTimes Uganda Premier League last season.

Simon Sserunkuuma becomes the second signing for the 13-time champions after striker Erisa Ssekisambu.

Geoffrey joins novices

In another related development, former Uganda Premier League top scorer, Geoffrey Sserunkuuma has joined new league entrants Wakiso Giants.

The 36-year-old former KCCA FC striker was announced on Monday by the Purple Sharks having signed him on a short term deal that will last for less than a year.

“Here is a very important announcement….. Welcome, Geoffrey Sserunkuma,” the team announced on their twitter.

The team will be looking at using his marksmanship as they begin their journey in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
