Fast rising Mukono based Kyetume FC on Thursday held moneybags Wakiso Giants FC to a barren draw in Elgon group of the FUFA Big League.
In an encounter that came only 10 days after the lowly ranked Kyetume side ejected the moneybags from Wakiso from the Uganda Cup, the two teams fired blanks in Jinja ensuring Wakiso Giants remained top of the group.
In an end to end game, both teams had many moments in which they nearly turned chances into goals but at the end of the 90 minutes, it was a goalless draw as they shared spoils.
Wakiso Giants FC remained on top of Elgon group on 33 points whereas Kyetume FC are on 27 points in second place.
Speaking shortly after the game, Wakiso Giants coach, Ibrahim Kirya rued missed chances for his team’s failure to win the game.
“The performance was okay but we lost a great chance through Norman Ogik that we didn’t convert but that is football. We shall win another day,”Kirya said.
